About Soviet holidays

One of the main General points, unifying view of the different people of our country, as yet, the memory of the Soviet holidays — November 7, 1 may, 8 March… In General. However, even “international” holidays were full of national flavor. Our main observation is that when we read, analyzed completed questionnaires, was that the way, coming from a child, has a special intensity and strength, and over the years, its brightness gradually increases.

Elderly people, especially those who are over 60, remember the holidays of his childhood. This feature of the holiday is remembered in childhood, to create an image of a real holiday for the rest of his life and connected with the revival in the memory of the Soviet holidays. Of course, we have a paradoxical situation. Just 20 years ago the citizens of our country were obliged to celebrate the days of the 7th of November, the 1st of may, other Soviet holidays (in their year were few, only a few non-working days: 7 and 8 November, 1 and 2 may, 5 December — Constitution day, later on it was added on 1 January, 8 March and 9 may). But these holidays have left their mark in the souls of children who participated in them together with senior. And now, when the children grew up and became adults, “a real holiday” for many of them Soviet.
